One of the most controversial aspects surrounding the culpability of Oswald are the fingerprints and palmprint found on the murder weapon. Originally, the Dallas police, in an instance of incompetence, did not notify the FBI of the palmprint found from the rifle until after the FBI (specifically Sebastian F. Latona) analyzed the rifle and couldn't find any discernible prints. First, let us look at the Oswald's right handprint below:
I want you to notice the significant swirl on the bottom right corner of the print. Now, let us observe the recovered palmprint lifted from the rifle by police officer J.C. Day, with the print circled:
Now, let us look at Oswald's right palmprint swirl again:
It is readily apparent that they are the same. Not only was Oswald's right palmprint found on the rifle, but his right middle and ring finger as well as the photographs below demonstrate:
